Warmachine League in full swing!

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

We’ve been playing all day, but by 7pm it was a packed house! Many games going on, many armies in mortal combat!
My personal opinion on the new league format is mixed. I feel there is too much things to keep track of, like special powers and choices. However, I do like the Battle Journal to keep track of the above, and I’ve always liked the interactive map, like the old Summer Rampage style, that lets players all over the world vie for territory together!
The first pic above is one of our customers who did an awsome paint job on Ayanna and Holt, one of the mercenary units.

Warmachine Tournament

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

Full house for the tournament! I came close but couldn’t pull out a victory coin in the end. (Coins for the top 3 players). Next month is the start of the league! Look for upcoming info!

Warmachine bag by Battle Foam

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

So, I just ordered a bunch of these bags. They are a little pricey compared to the other companies, but at the same time, they are the best quality bags. The Warmachine/Hordes bags come full of pre-cut foam that is supposed to fit the figures for said game. I was skeptical. Turns out, I like it!! See pics! First is all my Cygnar figs on the table. Second is them in the foam, third is the bag itself.
I still have a few big and medium size holes left to fill. The only figs I had problems with were the Thunderhead with his arm out to the side, one standard bearer and a few figs needed some leftover foam from other things to pad figs to keep them from bending a long lance and such. Overall, I’m impressed. The bag also had many nooks and pockets to store all your books and supplies. Very cool.

We also just recieved the Warmachine and Hordes cases from Battlefoam! These are the best quality cases on the market for your miniatures! The pre-cut foam is specifically designed to hold your Warmachine and Hordes miniatures!!

Woo Hoo! I’m snakin’ a case for myself!

Warmachine Tournament

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

It was a long day of battle. The gaming area was full to overflow with 7 tables running. Winners were Chris Brown playing Protectorate of Menoth in first place. Kyle Dalton playing Khador in second place. And Brandon Murchison playing Khador. We had the last of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place steamroller trophies!!
Later in the evening, bloodbowl games sprung up for the league. I ended OT in a tie in my game, but caused a whopping 5 casualties!! Ouch.

Board Game Night

Friday, February 19th, 2010

We had a full house in the gaming area for Board Game Night! 17 players in 5 different games.
I’m in the Warmachine/Hordes tournament on Saturday, had my first and only practice game with the army list I made. Lost, but encouraging, I know what I did poorly.
Look for some special news having to do with Privateer Press and our store soon! More info later.

Miniatures today

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

I played a scenario of Check Your 6! with Steve. It has been an ongoing Guadalcanal scenario book. My Japanese forces didn’t do so well, but did manage to get a couple bombers to drop thier payload over the airfield. Time will tell.
We also had a few Warmachine players drop by to get some practice games in for this saturday!!
New news! A couple Warhammer 40k players are thinking of starting a group gaming night during the week…….details to follow when they nail down thier plans!!

In Store Gaming

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Well, yesterday, our local press ganger (privateer press demo person) was kind enough to stop in and get a newer Warmachine player a little warmed up for his Adpeticon tournament.
Today we had a couple Bloodbowl games. First was mine, and man, I had it in the bag, but my opponent was able to knock the ball away and huck it down field away from me, ruining my chance to score at the end of the 2nd half. Now it is OT and he had to get going, so we will finish another day. ARGH! the suspense is killing me.
Second game is still going on, but near the end of a 1-0 match.
I must say that the GW Bloodbowl rules are very consice, compared to say Mordheim. I love Mordheim, but there are too many rules questions that crop up that are hard to define. Bloodbowl has none of that. I always have fun when we run a league here!

Friday Night Gaming

Saturday, February 13th, 2010

We had an RPG game of Dread scheduled, see the pics of that! And we also had several other gamers show up to use our open gaming area!! Jim Roots and his posse showed to play Ambush Alley and try some new rules changes he may try to incorporate. Yes, he is now one of the game developers for Ambush Alley Games! Then a father and son dropped in to play a game of Warmachine. And a couple local kids played some magic. All in all, it was a busy gaming area all night!

Board Game Night update

Friday, February 12th, 2010

Looks like the games played were Dungeon Lords and Puerto Rico. At least 9 people dropped by to play tonight!

We also recieved an delivery containing some JR miniatures, mainly rivers and ponds plus a few others. Small restock on Malifaux miniatures.

News for the local Warmachine players: Two veteran players have started new armies. Hopefully see them revealed during the League starting late March.
