Long awaited update!

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

Yes, it has been a while since my last post. We have been busy!! Warmachine League and other events have been filling up the store most every day!
This Friday we should have the new Magic Eldrazzi set in, AND the entire line of Games Workshop paints in the rack! About time! I need more space!
Jim Roots has been employed by Ambush Alley to help design the next wave of rule books that will be published through Osprey! That is big time for this fledgling company!
I’m working on May’s calendar of events, and it should be ironed out by this weekend! Look for more Magic, a Warhammer 40k tournament, a Warmachine tournament, and Monsterpocalypse, Arcane Legions, Flames of War, Ambush Alley, and even a possible Rogue Trader RPG one day event! whew.
Game on!

Saturday’s Magic tournament

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

We had our best turnout yet! Including a few new players, and for the future, there were a couple gamers who decided to get back into magic after seeing the nice turnout we had! Prizes included 6 people winning booster packs, everyone recieved a foil Worldwake card, and we raffled off a Worldwake poster and a Magic bag/backpack. I may have to start selling singles if more people ask!
In other happenings, there was a lot of Bloodbowl played for our league, we are in week 5 of 9. Warmachine hit the table. Monsterpocalypse was demoed! And a Dark Heresy RPG group played through the evening!

Lots of gaming goodness!

Tuesday night at UGG

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Looks like some 40k players stopped by to get a game in! Pic above.
Others came by to test out their Magic the Gathering decks for this weekend tournament.
Store Stuff: I added another shelf to hold our demo board games! We needed more space for them! I also moved the Malifaux miniatures to a better/more visible area!
We are filling out paperwork with Battle Foam, in order to bring in their cases! Best quality miniatures cases out there, and they sell all kinds of pre-cut foam to fit your army into a tighter space! GW, PIP, all kinds!

In Store Gaming

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Well, yesterday, our local press ganger (privateer press demo person) was kind enough to stop in and get a newer Warmachine player a little warmed up for his Adpeticon tournament.
Today we had a couple Bloodbowl games. First was mine, and man, I had it in the bag, but my opponent was able to knock the ball away and huck it down field away from me, ruining my chance to score at the end of the 2nd half. Now it is OT and he had to get going, so we will finish another day. ARGH! the suspense is killing me.
Second game is still going on, but near the end of a 1-0 match.
I must say that the GW Bloodbowl rules are very consice, compared to say Mordheim. I love Mordheim, but there are too many rules questions that crop up that are hard to define. Bloodbowl has none of that. I always have fun when we run a league here!

Chainmail suit

Saturday, February 13th, 2010

Professor Fratt, of Trinity University, stopped by with his suit of chainmail armor. He forced us to try it on at blade point. See me and another customer all dressed up!

Board Game Night update

Friday, February 12th, 2010

Looks like the games played were Dungeon Lords and Puerto Rico. At least 9 people dropped by to play tonight!

We also recieved an delivery containing some JR miniatures, mainly rivers and ponds plus a few others. Small restock on Malifaux miniatures.

News for the local Warmachine players: Two veteran players have started new armies. Hopefully see them revealed during the League starting late March.
