We received a select amount of Magic the Gathering Knights vs. Dragons Duel Decks today. These are great little “mini games” for Magic fans, and are pretty hard to come by once the initial run sells out!
For the 40k players out there, tomorrow sees the release of the all new Grey Knights codex! We will have the codex, Lord Kaldor Draigo, Grey Knights, Grey Knight Terminators, and the Nemesis Dread Knight on shelves!

Privateer Press’ March releases include resculpts for four Hordes Warlocks: Kaya the Wildborne, Madrak Ironhide, Lylyth Herald of Everblight, and Master Assassin Morghoul, along with the Ragman solo for Mercs and the Destor Unit for Retribution, plus No Quarter 35. We also received a new board games: Dominant Species, which lets players control the evolution of Earth’s species from the beginning of time. Looks very cool. Also a new entry to Unique Gifts and Games is MERCS miniatures. We have the rulebook in stock for this sci-fi skirmish game, set in a future earth where countries and conglomerates have merged to form mega corporations. When these megacorps need to play dirty, they send in highly trained security teams known as MERCS. Come in and check it out!

I really want to put one of the new items we received in the spotlight today. Eureka, a book by Studio 2 Publishing, was worked on by a good friend of Unique Gifts and Games, Patrick Benson. This book features hundreds of great hooks for game masters roleplaying in any genre to get their adventures started. I’m talking anything from sci-fi, fantasy, cyberpunk, horror; you name it, it’s in their. This is really something all you roleplayers out there need to check out.

First up is Days of Wonder’s brand new board game, Cargo Noir. We featured Cargo Noir in one of our newsletters, but for sthose of you who haven’t read it (for shame) the game is based in the 50s, and has players take over the role of smugglers and other undesirables as you attempt to build up your criminal enterprise through illicit trade activity, All in a hard day’s work.
We also received a select amount of the new Marvel X-Men Giant Size boosters. These come in two varieties, normal boosters much like the ones that were featured in the recent Web of Spiderman expansion, along with a huge booster variant that features giant size figures such as Sentinels, Apocalypse, and the like. Like I said, we only have a few of these in stock, and they are SOLD OUT at the distributor level. If your looking to get your hands on some of these soon, get in here before they’re gone!

It was big fun for everyone!  We had 28 different players get a chance to adventure on the Isle of Dread!  I did hear several deaths happen, so it wasn’t an easy task!

So this coming Sunday’s game will be something entirely different. Ambush Sunday is still on, but we will be playing a game of Pig Wars in 28mm. If you’re not familiar with the game, it is a Dark Ages skirmish game where each player commands a small band of Vikings, Saxons, Normans, Irish with differing objectives, most of which involve stealing from the other players. Remember, wealth in 1000 AD was measured in cattle, sheep and you guessed it, pigs. The game is great fun and Jon Walters has been itching to use his new Gripping Beast plastic Saxons, so I’m dusting off the 28mm collection. Please join us at 12:30 PM at Unique Gifts and Games in Grayslake, IL for some shield-wall stomping, helmet bashing fun.    -JR
